I met Patrick Galvin in a bus in Singapore. We were seated next to each other on our way to a networking event at the Asia Professional Speakers Summit. I asked Patrick what is his area of specialization and pat came his response, ‘I help companies galvanize repeat and referred business through better relationships.’. That’s the premise of his book as well.

Since I’m currently working on my book,‘Global Gigs’, I asked him which strategy has been the best for him to get his paid speaking gigs.  He explained that most of his paid speaking gigs comes from a few companies that keep rehiring him often. I pointed out the Pareto’s Principle, the 80:20 rule meaning that 80% of business comes from 20% of clients. He said, its way better than that. 98% of his business comes from 2% of his clients. That’s a great testimonial of his belief in relationship building for financial success.  This is a great tip if you want to succeed in any business, especially in the professional speaking world.
